i’ll help you know when to spend & when to save…

Vegas Here We Come! Maybe

B & I have already been to Myrtle Beach this year for my dad’s annual family vacation, and we’ll be going to Michigan over July 4th, but we keep looking at Vegas vacations, too. It’s relatively inexpensive to get over there & stay, because they bank that you’ll spend most of your money in casinos. I think B & I would enjoy just walking the streets, getting a few bites to eat, and maybe seeing a show or two. And if you budget and use free passes & stuff over the internet, you can find even more ways to save money & still enjoy a little vacation!

Shoe Wear

I love looking at women’s shoes even though I don’t own a lot of them. B was joking that him & I both don’t have a lot of “fashionable” shoes, and he’s totally right. I’m usually in cheap flip-flops. When I wear heels, I do feel sassy & fabulous, but they’re just not comfortable and practical most of the time.

Gladiator-type sandals are really in style right now. There are some gladiatorish heels in the movie Sex and the City that I love. Maybe I’ll invest and get a couple pairs. :)

Fat Burner

I’m not a big fan of things that claim to be a fat burner because I truthfully believe in being healthy, exercising, following the advice of a doctor, and being comfortable at your natural weight. However, I know people Google search this stuff all the time, because they are frustrated and want fast fixes. Unfortunately, fast fixes can sometimes be dangerous, and unless a medical staff supervises you, it would be wise to find other alternatives. Thought healthy eating & exercise do have their limits, how much is being skinny worth it to you? Be careful out there!

Kitchen Faucets

B & I are desperately needing new faucets. It’s not a want thing, it’s a need thing. Our kitchen faucet and downstairs bathroom faucet both leak when the water is on, around the base. It’s really annoying because it’s a waste of water (and we try to conserve) and because it gets everything around the sink wet, and then I have to use a towel to wipe it down. It’s just a waste of everything, and it would be worth the investment to replace.

I found Danze faucets & was in love. They’re so sleek! I just want something really simple, like this:

If you get a good quality faucet, it’s an investment worth making.

My friend Kristin’s Marriage

My friend Kristin recently got married and called me to tell me what it’s like being a newlywed. She was talking about how much cheaper car insurance is when you get married, and I was telling her about finding a life insurance lead. B & I don’t have life insurance yet, but we probably will look into it within the next few years. It’s scary & weird but it’s something you have to do. It’s important to take care of these things & then be done with them.

Just posted some tips on Scribble Honey :) Enjoy!

Mooooore diet pills, lord.

So we’ve talked already earlier about diet pills, and best weight loss supplements that are available out there. But I want to know what you’ve tried to lose weight? Acai berries? Natural products? Or medicinal ones? Do you just exercise instead (I’d really LOVE to hear from those people, haha)? I just don’t think it’s a first choice to put stuff into your body that isn’t natural in order to lose weight. I also don’t think it works long-term. It’s a lifestyle change you have to make, not something simple & quick… even though we want it to be, sometimes.

Hair loss

I’m so thankful for B’s genes because he won’t be looking for hair loss products any time soon *crosses fingers* - his dad has almost all of his hair and he’s in his mid-50’s! :D But even if he did lose it, I’d still love him… my dad lost some of his & decided to just shave his entire head! So now he looks like Stone Cold Steve Austin (from wrestling) even more than he used to, haha.

HLCC hair treatment gets high reviews and is only about $49 dollars. And women can lose their hair too! This is an area I would budget for if needed, because having hair helps your confidence, and places like HLCC Online can help you for not a lot of investment on your part.

RV livin

I can’t imagine what it would have been like to live in a RV like they did and spend days & nights in rv parks. I think it’d actually be fun if you could take a year (or even 6 months) off and do something like that. And imagine the money you’d save without a mortgage and car loans! :) Of course, you probably wouldn’t have a steady job. The Janssen’s are now back at home & you can read about their more “normal” life here. She is fun to read and their adventures are still happening!

Franchise

I think tools like the franchise gator are really neat. It shows you franchise opportunities and has an advanced seach feature to do so. You can browse by location, which is awesome, but I browsed “Pet Franchises” because I’m a nerd like that. I found a cute franchise called “Doody Calls” and one called “Central Bark.” B & I always “fantasize” about different small businesses we’d love to run, and we get tickled at ourselves because we both love such random things - like dog walking businesses, or a cupcake shop. We’re kind of nerds, but it’s still fun looking around, and sometimes these investments are surprisingly low!
